ARC 2008 Crew

Geoff: Joint owner, power boat man at heart, but got converted by Christine, excellent boat handling in tight spots, and his sailing ability has come on in leaps and bounds, good at managing people. Sailed mostly in the Solent with Christine, but more recently Spain and now the ‘pond’.

David: A mature , relaxed part time fair weather sailor. A chartered engineer who has enjoyed a variety of sailing opportunities over the years. Has sailed the Atlantic from West to East but this is first time crossing downwind. (hopefully). A bit rusty as most recent experience this year confined to Sailing Holiday with Rose and some competitive solo dinghy sailing in Seafarers Sailing Club.

Rob: is an ‘innovative’ commercially endorsed yachtmaster and cruising instructor with a background as a sail training and charter skipper. He has sailed all but the Indian Ocean so far and has even been round the horn!!! He is looking forward to sailing across in style with a bunch of great guys.

Esther: is a fun loving commercially endorsed Yachtmaster and cruising instructor with a background in sail training and charter work as mate, she has mainly sailed the south coast of England, channel NW French coastline, Scilly Isles, Western Isles, North Sea and Baltic. This is her first time across the ‘pond’ and she is very excited to be part of the adventure with Anam Cara and her crew for the Arc 08.

Andrew: has sailed for 37 years and was a yacht rigger for a boatyard on the Hamble River in S.England. This is his first crossing so still plenty to learn yet. He has done some charter work including working in the Caribbean. He has owned a variety of small sailing boats in which he has explored much of the south coast and channel.
